Last updated: October 31, 2026
The short version: we collect what we need to run our events. Your application answers are never published. Other attendees only see your profile if they were at the same event, and your contact details are shared only when you both agree to connect. We never sell your information.
1. Overview
Mahalla Events LLC ("Mahalla," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have. Because some of our events involve personal topics like marriage and faith, we work hard to keep what you share with us private.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Event applications: your name, contact details, age, gender, city, occupation, marital status, and answers about yourself, your faith, your background, and what you're looking for, plus any social media handle you choose to share.
- Tickets and registration: your name, email, ticket type, and answers to checkout questions, such as age, city, occupation, marital status, and your agreement to our Code of Conduct and information-sharing terms.
- Profiles: information you add to an attendee profile or interest form after an event.
- Email sign-ups and messages: your name and email when you join our list, and anything you write to us through our contact form or email.
- Feedback: your answers to surveys we send after events.
Information collected by our service providers
- Payments: card and payment details are handled directly by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- Website and email: our website host and email provider may automatically log basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, and our email provider may track whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. Our sign-up form may use cookies set by our email provider.
Photos
Photos or video from events, as described in our Terms of Service. We don't publish identifiable photos without permission.
3. How we use your information
- To review applications and decide who to invite, including keeping numbers and age ranges balanced.
- To process registrations and payments and to check you in.
- To run event activities, including sharing profiles and connecting people when interest is mutual.
- To send you event details, updates, and changes.
- To send our newsletter and event announcements, if you've signed up. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- To respond to your messages and requests.
- To keep our events safe, enforce our Code of Conduct, and prevent misuse.
- To improve our events using feedback.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
4. Who can see your information
- Our team. The Mahalla team, and helpers working an event, see only what they need, such as the guest list at check-in.
- Other attendees, only in limited ways. If you attend a singles event with profile sharing, your profile is visible only to people who attended the same event. We share your contact details with another attendee only when you've both agreed to connect. If you tell us you're interested in someone and agree to a follow-up introduction, we may share your first name and profile with that person when we ask whether they'd like to connect. If they say no or don't reply, we share nothing more. Likewise, if someone is interested in you, we may ask whether you'd like to connect, and we share your details only if you say yes.
- Service providers. Companies that help us operate, such as our ticketing provider, payment processors, form and spreadsheet tools, email provider, and website host. They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. Your application answers are never published.
5. How long we keep it
We keep application, registration, and profile information for as long as it's useful for running our events, generally up to two years after your last event or application, and then delete it. We keep payment and tax records as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, as described in section 7.
6. Keeping it safe
We limit access to your information to people who need it, use reputable service providers, and protect our accounts with strong passwords and two-factor sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
7. Your choices
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any email. We'll still send messages about events you've registered for.
- Access, correct, or delete your information by emailing us. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records for legal or accounting reasons.
- Withdraw photo permission at any time by emailing us.
- Change your mind about sharing. You can ask us not to share your profile or contact details with other attendees going forward.
8. Children
Our website and events are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Anyone under 18 attending an all-ages community event must be registered by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a significant change to how we share your information, we'll tell you by email or on our website.
